December 1998, KingLong United Automotive Industry (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. incorporated is established. The following year 1000 vehicles are produced.
400,000 square meters of new factory is established in Suzhou Industrial Park and put into production. In July of the same year, Higer passes International TS16949 Certification.
Annual output and sales exceeds 10,000 units.
In March 2007, Higer signs a contract to export 1,000 buses to Russia, hitting the sales volume of over 40 million US dollars.
That same month Higer joins hands with SCANIA to research SCANIA·Higer A90 High-class Deluxe Coach, and are awarded “The Best Coach Manufacturer”, with Higer Bus being awarded “Best Coach Shape” at Shanghai BAAV Asia Exposition and the title of “Best Safety Equipment”. In December 2007, Higer is awarded “Top 10 Enterprises in China’s Coach Industry” and “Top 10 Brands in China’s Coach Industry”. SCANIA·Higer A90 is awarded “Top 10 Highway Travel Coaches in China’s Coach Industry”.
Orders from overseas countries continue to grow - 600 for Syria, 200 for Saudi Arabia, 500 for Algeria and 400 for Malaysia.
In March 2008, Higer is again awarded “The Best Coach Manufacturer” at Shanghai BAAV Asia Exposition.
In July Higer is successfully placed in the top 100 of Chinese manufacturers, coming in at position 99.
Even with the negative influence of the global economic downturn in 2009, Higer exports 1,502 complete vehicles, hitting the sales volume of 830 million USD, playing a critical role in the process of China's bus driving into the world. Sales in 2009 exceeded Scania, Volvo and MAN combined.
Higer Bus achieves a sales record of 20,000 vehicles for the 2010 year.
Higer's manufacturing facility now has the capacity to produce 35,000 buses per year. The production base for medium, large and city buses covers 800,000 sqm. Higer has a total asset of RMB 5.1 billion and more than 6,000 employees
